Let’s Celebrate Sensei Sadie!
We are both sad, AND excited, to announce that this is Sensei’s final week teaching at the dojo.
Sad…because she has been training at the dojo since she was 6 years old! I cannot believe that she is now grown - and heading into her adult life!
BUT - we are excited for her because she will be leaving us to live in the gorgeous California Sunshine as she begins her freshman year at the University of California, Santa Barbara! (UCSB) She has worked SO hard for this moment and we are absolutely thrilled for her.

If you would like to donate to Sadie’s “Good Luck” fund (that she doesn’t know about - haha), please feel free to drop something off at the front desk with me. (Of course, you can just hand it to Sadie if she is there.) For those who would like to add to her “going to college” cash fund, you can Venmo our Dojo account at @Kelly-Muir-2 (please look for the karate patch on my photo to ensure you have the correct account). I will transfer all cash to her - along with the names and messages of those who sent something.
Note: Sadie does have a Venmo account but I do not feel comfortable putting out in public.

INTRODUCING OUR GUARDIAN CLASS!
Five Year Olds, This is For YOU! Details Below.
INTRODUCING THE EXCEL KARATE GUARDIANS!
We have a brand new course beginning in September - JUST for 5 Year olds!
This will be a session oriented course, running for 10 weeks in the Fall. Information is below:
It is a “Once Per Week” Course that Runs for 10 Weeks
Families choose either Monday or Wednesday
It will be held from 4:30 - 5:00 (Mon or Wed)
Each Class is Limited to 12 Students
Participants must be 5 years old AT the time of Registration
It is a program intended to develop coordination, confidence and focus. It can be thought of as a ‘Pre-Karate” program.
Moving forward, we will pull our new Karate Students directly from the Guardian Class. Guardians will be evaluated at the end of each session for placement into our Karate Program.
The First Session dates Begin August 31 and End Nov 11.
(NOTE: There is a two Week Break in October while the dojo is closed for the Black Belt/Instructor Training Trip to Okinawa)
